Idaho Republican Party PREAMBLE

We believe the strength of our nation lies with our faith and reliance on God our Creator, the individual, and the traditional family; and that each person's dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.

We believe the United States Constitution is the greatest and most inspired document to govern a nation, and the republican form of government it gives us, (U.S. Const. Art. IV §4), is the best guarantor of freedom in history.

We believe in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.

We believe human life begins at conception and is protected by the unalienable rights endowed by our Creator along with the fundamental right to life and shall not be infringed upon.

We believe free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation and state opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

We believe government must practice fiscal responsibility, and that taxpayers shall allow the government only the money necessary to provide appropriate functions.

We believe that our Founding Fathers gave us a government that is a servant of the people, not our master. The proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions, which individuals or private organizations cannot perform.

We believe the most effective, responsible, responsive government is government closest to the people, and the sovereignty of the state must be protected. That government is best that governs least.

We believe Idahoans must protect the principles and values that have made us strong. We believe Idahoans value and should preserve our national and state strength and pride while working to promote peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.

We believe the protection of individual rights is upheld when personal responsibility for behavior is exercised.

We believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideas into positive and successful principles of government.

I want to work on behalf of my district working long side of citizens, sharing their needs at the state level.  I am committed to being a community advocate. After listening to many voices in the community, it is clear our citizens want to be heard.  It's important to keep the government accountable to its citizens and up hold their constitutional rights.

I want to work with my districts school boards, principals, teachers, and parents to benefit youth and a healthy educational environment as our Community continues to grow.  I want to visit schools and share with youth how they can be involved with the future of District 20, in Idaho.

Youth programs and youth wrap around services are crucial to healthy communities. Youth are the future of our state and they deserve the support of our government.

It's time to start working together at all levels of government to benefit the communities in our state.  Government need to be fiscally responsible all levels being accountable to one another to benefit the citizens.

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

-Martin Luther King, Jr

Upon the subject of education, not presuming to dictate any plan or system respecting it, I can only say that I view it as the most important subject which we as a people can be engaged in.

-Abraham Lincoln, March 9, 1832

I do not expect the Union to be dissolved -- I do not expect the house to fall -- but I do expect it will cease to be divided

.--Abraham Lincoln, June 16, 1858 House Divided Speech

Platform and Commitments

A pillar of who I am, I believe in the "true" freedom that comes from believing in Jesus Christ, and having faith in our Creator.   I believe that it is this faith that restores hope in humanity.

I believe that strengthening families builds healthy community. Along with, community members building positive relationships to create a social safety net for each other. "It takes a village."

I believe in the the guiding principles that we have in our constitution. I believe that we should use it as we design a frame work for Idaho.  This will protect the freedom endowed to us by our founding fathers.

As a public servant, I am choosing to not sign on with the groups below.  I will try to utilize these groups for the knowledge and wisdom that can be gained, while weighing other sides of the same issues.  I would like to put the interest of the constituents in my district as priority.

Special Interest groups (SIG): Any association of individuals or organizations, usually formally organized, that, on the basis of one or more shared concerns, attempts to influence public policy in its favor.  All interest groups share a desire to affect government police to benefit themselves or their causes. Their goal could be a policy that exclusively benefits group members or one segment of society or policy that advances a broader public purpose.  They attempt to achieve their goals by lobbying-that is, by attempting to bring pressure to bear on policy makers to gain policy outcomes in their favor.

Lobbying groups:  Individuals or private interest groups to influence the decisions of government; in its original meaning it referred to efforts to influence the votes of legislators, generally in the lobby outside the legislative chamber.

Political Action Committees (PAC):  In US politics, and organization whose purpose is to raise and distribute campaign funds to candidates seeking political office.  Generally, they are made of up corporations, labor unions, trade associations, and other organizations, or individuals and channel the voluntary contributions they raise to candidates for elective offices.
